The Machame Route is arguably the most beautiful path to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Known as the “Whiskey Route,” it offers a more adventurous challenge compared to Marangu. The trail takes you through magnificent rain forests, across the vast Shira Plateau, and past the stunning Southern Ice Fields. With its “climb high, sleep low” topography, it offers excellent opportunities for acclimatization.
