The 6-Day Northern Serengeti Migration & Balloon Safari is our premier short-duration luxury circuit. It is strategically paced to ensure you spend maximum time in the Kogatende region—the heart of the river crossing action. This itinerary minimizes unnecessary travel by focusing on the most "active" zones of the Serengeti during the migration season. From the golden light of a balloon flight to the dense wildlife of the Ngorongoro Crater, every hour is optimized for iconic sightings and professional-grade photography.

Arrival Day: Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by our driver and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Day 01 :

Arrival & The Journey to the Heart

Accommodation: Luxury Tented Camp (Central Serengeti)

Time Taken: 6 - 7 hrs

Weather: Warm / Savannah Upon arrival at Arusha or after your Moshi pick-up, we head toward the Serengeti. The drive takes you through the stunning Ngorongoro Highlands before the "endless plains" reveal themselves. We begin our first game drive in the Seronera Valley, a prime spot for large cats, before settling into your luxury camp.

Day 02 :

Northward Bound (The Migration Trail)

Accommodation: Migration Mobile Camp (Northern Serengeti/Kogatende)

Distance: 140 km

Time Taken: 5 - 6 hrs

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Weather: Hot / Dry After breakfast, we trek north. The landscape shifts as we move toward the Mara River. You will start seeing the massive herds of the Great Migration. This area is remote and wild, offering an authentic bush experience away from the crowds. We arrive in Kogatende for an evening game drive along the riverbanks.

Day 03 :

The Great Migration – River Crossing Drama

Accommodation: Migration Mobile Camp (Northern Serengeti/Kogatende)

Meals: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch, Dinner

Weather: Sunny / Dynamic This is the big day. We spend the entire day strategically positioned near the Mara River crossing points. We wait for the "nervous energy" of the herds to peak as they plunge into the water. Our guides use their expert knowledge to find the best vantage points for this once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.

Day 04 :

Sunrise Balloon Safari & Predator Tracking

Accommodation: Luxury Tented Camp (Central Serengeti)

Distance: 140 km

Time Taken: 5 hrs (Game drive en route)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Weather: Morning Cold / Day Warm Experience the Serengeti from above with an optional Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Safari. Glide silently over the migration before enjoying a champagne bush breakfast. Afterward, we begin our game drive back toward the Central Serengeti, tracking the predators that follow the herds’ shadows.

Day 05 :

Serengeti to the Rim of the World

Accommodation: Ngorongoro Crater Rim Lodge

Distance: 145 km

Time Taken: 4 hrs

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Weather: Warm Plains / Cold Rim (2,300m) We enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, capturing the last images of the golden savannah. In the afternoon, we drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We check into a lodge situated directly on the crater rim, offering the most spectacular sunset views in Africa.

Day 06 :

The Eden of Africa & Farewell

Accommodation: N/A

Distance: 190 km (To Arusha)

Time Taken: 4 hrs + 6 hrs Crater Tour

Meals: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch

Weather: Cool Crater Floor / Tropical We descend 610 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a 6-hour tour. This is your best chance to see the rare Black Rhino and the densest concentration of lions. After a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, we ascend and drive back to Arusha or directly to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) for your departure.

Accommodation & Facilities: We utilize luxury mobile migration camps that “follow” the herds. These camps offer an authentic bush atmosphere with high-end comforts: real beds, en-suite hot showers, and gourmet meals served under the stars.

Best Time to Visit: For the Mara River crossings, the optimal window is July to October. During this time, the weather is dry, the skies are clear, and the migration is concentrated in the Northern Serengeti.

Preparation & Packing Tips: Pack layers. Mornings in the Balloon and on the Crater rim are very cold, while afternoons on the plains are hot. Essential items: Binoculars, a high-zoom camera, neutral-colored clothing, and a good hat.

Health & Safety: Your safety is our priority. Our vehicles have long-range radios and first-aid kits. We perform daily vehicle checks. We recommend anti-malarial medication and ensuring you have comprehensive travel insurance.
